Traditionally our race starts at the Rio Grill in the Crossroads Shopping Village, Highway 1 at Rio Road in Carmel, Calif. The race features and features an absolutely gorgeous course that includes trails, roads and stunning water vistas along the way. This year we want you to make your own virtual race — whatever way fits your groove!
This year Rio Grill’s Resolution Run benefits CASA of Monterey County. For 25 years, CASA has provided an essential and unique service as the only court-appointed child advocate program addressing an acute problem — the needs of neglected or abused children who have been placed in foster care. CASA has been on the front lines for these children throughout the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, and its mission is to recruit, train, and support community volunteers to represent the best interests and needs of these vulnerable children, while pursuing a safe and permanent home for them. CASA serves children from birth to 21 years and is beginning to serve juvenile justice youth as participants in a 2-year pilot program.
Looking to stay motivated, stay socially distanced, but still participate in active and healthy events? Then this race is for you!
The Rio Grill Virtual 5K/10K is all about Running (or Walking) and spending time with your family and friends. Unfortunately, we can’t congregate in groups currently, but we can still come together as a virtual community and enjoy fun, fitness, charity, social sharing, and our wonderful pets!
Walkers, strollers, dogs on a leash, cats on a leash, anything on a leash are welcome at this year’s virtual race. You pick the course. Dress up, and have fun! Your race starts and ends at a spot of your choosing. At noon on January 5, 2021, we will announce the winners via email for the fantastic random prize drawings, open to all registered runners and walkers, as well as prizes for the largest team, fastest team, best dressed and more!

To Join:
- Register for the 5K or 10K run/walk
- Complete a 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) run or walk any time on January 1st, 2021, while observing proper social distancing of course!
- Post your time online using RaceJoy or any tracking of your choice (we’ll send you instructions).
- Post your pics using #RioGrill #RioGrillCarmel
